Halloween Punch Recipe

Okay now let’s talk about this punch. After making this delicious non-alcoholic Christmas punch, I’ve always wanted to make my own Halloween punch. This zombie punch is everything a Halloween drink recipe should be – eery colored, sweet (but not too sweet), and full of spooktacular goodies. It’s the perfect Halloween party punch if I do say so myself!

How to make this halloween Punch for kids

This Halloween punch is super simple to make! And while it’s a great non-alcoholic option that doesn’t mean it’s just for kids. This fun themed drink actually tastes good enough for the whole family! Combine equal parts lemonade and lemon-lime soda in a large punch bowl. Or if you want to make a smaller batch, you can just do it in a large bowl and then pour everything into a large pitcher later. Stir to mix well. You really want these combined before you move onto the next step! Add in your blue raspberry mix and stir really well until you get a nice light bluish green color. Don’t do any added sugar – the drink will be sweet enough with just the mix. It gives you some fun flavor and the fun green color without too much added sweetness. Again, you want this to be totally mixed before you move onto the next step! Add in scoops of lime sherbet. Don’t stir – just let them sit all along the surface. It’ll add to the idea of this being a zombie punch. It could also pass for a witches brew if you want to leave out the candy body parts. You could even serve it in a large cauldron and serve it up with some of these cauldron cupcakes. This should give you that nice green flavor but if you really want it to be darker green, you could also add a few drops of green food coloring – just remember a little goes a long way! Last but not least, you’re going to add in your gummy worms and gummy body parts (if using). I like to do this right before serving and try to balance some of the gummy candy on top of the sherbet scoops, but it’s not a big deal if they fall into the punch. When people put this into their serving glasses, those little suckers will still show up nicely! It’s a fun surprise for kids when they get a sunken eyeball when they’re drinking the punch! It just looks more festive if you have some still on top of the sherbet. It’s almost a little magic! Scoop and serve in individual cups with gummy worms hanging off the side, kind of like worms coming out of the ground. I wouldn’t normally be excited about worms on my drink table but during spooky season, it’s perfect.

Expert Tips

Scoop the sherbet into muffin tins before the party to save time making it right before the party. That way you can just pour the drink, add the blue raspberry mix, and immediately add the sherbet on top right before serving. No messy scooping or dealing with sherbet last minute. Don’t make this ahead of time. It takes less than five minutes to make so just make it last-minute right before serving. That way the sherbet doesn’t all completely melt and all the gummy candy doesn’t just sink and disappear. Add two gummy worms to each cup ahead of time rather than a bowl of gummy worms to add their own. They’ll never stick with jus two. Plus, the gummy worm garnish is kind of like the fun added sprinkle rim on this strawberry mocktail! Don’t double the recipe to start. Stick with the basic recipe then add more when you run out (again, super quick to make). Doubling it can totally throw off the taste with the added sherbet on top.
